Dr. Duck is on his 12th season of hunting Dove and Ducks in Mexico

He hunts the Northern region of Tamaulipas in an area from the Rio Grande- south and east to the area around Sugar Lake.

White Wing and Morning dove hunting is awesome!

  • Most weekends you can find him with a soar shoulder from shooting between 2 & 4 cases of shells (1000-2000 shells)
  • Over the years he averages 6 dove hunts mid august through October
  • 4 Duck and Goose hunts- Nov through February
  • In recent years, he and a partner have been able to secure access to many ranches in the Sugar Lake area.
    • 30,000 to 50, 000+ ducks winter in the Sugar Lake Area
    • 20,000 to 25,000+ Speckel Belly Geese winter in the Sugar Lake Area as well.

Mexico Hunting

  • In Mexico, you can use lead shot
  • No plugs are required in guns
  • Feeding the ducks is NOT illegal
  • The seasons, and limits are liberal
  • Nov. 1st through the last Sunday in February
  • 75 ducks of any species, & 15 geese (per hunter, per weekend)
  • Dove limits are also liberal. Last year limits were increased to:
    • 120 white wing
    • 120 morning dove
    • (per hunter, per weekend)

After 3 years of trial and error, Dr. Duck and his partner have made more contacts and are learning the area very well. They have organized the details and equipment system. And are looking forward to an unbelievable year!
